I have tried other zappers and not one of them equals this zapper. It works and thankfully it is easy to clean because I need to clean it often. This bug zapper is heaven sent! It attracts and zaps all pesky flies, mosquitoes, and Beatles from my patio. I can finally host a party and hang out without the use of useless bug spray or bug candles. I don't have to swat while enjoying wine or see my guests slapping themselves with discomfort. I hang my bug zapper on the outdoor garden hooks and DONE! I also place it in the kitchen window when I'm cooking to prevent bugs from flying in the house. I was very skeptical about this killing even one mosquito and was very happy to see that it killed mosquitoes and other small bugs. It does not work very well on wasps and other larger bugs.
Was having some issues with flies in the house over the summer, and the standard "sticky" fly trap I got at the grocery store wasn't cutting it. Decided to try this thing, and was somewhat skeptical, but it ended catching the flies and solving the problem for which I purchased it. Some general thoughts/observations
- works best for mosquitoes honestly, but will catch flies and moths
- best used at nighttime in a completely darkened room. Bugs pretty much ignore it during the daytime or if other light sources are present
- not exactly that quiet, I find it works best for me and my household to turn it on before I and the rest of the house is in bed.
Again, I bought this to catch flies, and it did. Good product.
I got this fly trap a couple of days ago. It came assembled. plug it in and turn it on. It operates quietly and makes a good night light.
FYI.. This fly trap does not trap flies during waking hours. It only seems to trap flies overnight. I'm not sure why but maybe has to with the flies themselves. The first day I ran it all day in my bathroom, where a fruit fly hangs out. Despite running it in complete darkness, the trap captured no flies during the day.
The first night I ran it in my living room it and captured 9 flies. Two nights ago I ran it the same bathroom and it captured a few more flies. Last night I ran it in the kitchen and it captured a few more flies. I have not seen any flies today at all.
From here on out, I'll only run it overnight in rooms where I see flies. It works, but it demands some patience.
